Who told you to work so hard? We list your cast of inner critics and hear their voices. We shine a camera and a spotlight on them and give them names. You tell me stories about them.
What places can you trace back to where there was a whiff of subtle control that might have outlived its purpose? Now we have a list of names and places. We talk back, with all due respect.
We spend time with your intuition. We are looking for your inner coach, your mentor, your wise counsel. Who is that sage presence who is always with you, no matter what? And if you cannot locate that person, we constitute one from imagination.
We round out the picture with a check-in for your body. We look at the ways you have ignored it over the years. We explore modalities you might like to try for relaxation and self-soothing.
Wrap-up, review, ideas for getting where you want to be over the next three to six months. You leave with tools and a plan for life as your own inner coach.
You have something of an up-and-down path.
The crests are amazing. The troughs can be gut-wrenching.
I know about this. I had my thirty year TV news career and livelihood knocked out from under me in an instant. While I was on vacation in Rome a man drove his Mercedes over my feet one hot summer night. Crush injuries, broken bones.
At least, my doctor said, no major artery was severed, you could have bled to death.
I never went back to TV news.
My recovery took years. (Wheelchair – crutches – limp – fatigue – and then back to almost normal).
I know how it feels to build an intimate connection with an audience and I know how it feels for that to end. I've rebuilt a meaningful life based on a root purposefulness that doesn't depend on the vagaries of others' opinions.
Let me accompany you through the ups and downs of life in the public eye.
